Venture Lighting Institute Offers Online Program
Online training offers alternative to traditional onsite trainingSTREETSBORO, OH (May 27, 2009) – As part of our continued effort to provide educational opportunities to the lighting community, the Venture Lighting Institute (VLI) is offering an online training series for free starting June 11 through the end of the 2009 year.
This online series covers lighting concepts to Venture products. The curriculum is designed towards key audiences such as electrical distributors and lighting designers. The series is offered once a month for a half hour at 11AM EST with a three part series starting at 8AM EST October through December.
The VLI is also hosting their traditional onsite classes to complement the free training program. “We feel strongly as a team to continue our commitment to providing education on the newest lighting trends in metal halide and we recognize businesses within our industry have limited travel budgets, expenses and training opportunities. Our online series assists with continuing education that is needed,” said Director of the VLI, Amanda Foust.
Several subjects qualify for a half (.5) continuing education credit. The classes are kept short focusing on key target subjects and products. “Offering short and precise topics for training is essential to a successful online program,” said Foust. Like other industries, the lighting community is susceptible to the current economic times which have lead to reduced expenses and heavier work loads. The webinar series offers a no cost, condensed cirriculum for lighting professionals.
The online training is provided via WebEx technology which requires users to have a computer with online access and a telephone connection to conference into the program. Presenters include key experts such as engineers and lighting designers. The format is presented in slides and allows for interaction on the call between participants and the trainer.
Registration is required and limited to 20 registrants. Registration and class details are online at www.TheVLI.com in the classes section of the website. For additional information on the free series, contact Amanda Foust, Venture Lighting Institute, 888.223.6361.
